Marie Markosian, economist by degree, is auditor and FinTech expert at Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC) with a total experience of 25 years in financial services audit industry and engaged in policy making since 2014. As HCMC policy/technical expert, she participates to FinTech related Standing Committees, Task Forces and Working Groups at ESMA, Joint Committee of European Supervisory Authorities, Council of the European Union and European Commission. Marie is the coordinator of the HCMC Innovation Hub and appointed representative at the European Forum for Innovation Facilitators (EFIF). She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Hellenic Blockchain Hub, and volunteer mentor at Job-Pairs. Motivated by an inner need to evolve, welcomes innovation and new challenging conditions with the balancing view of her professional background at HCMC.
During the 2014 Greek Presidency of the European Council, she participated to the negotiations with the European Parliament and the European Commission for the “Proposal on a Regulation on Retail Packaged and Insurance Based Investment Products (PRIIPs)”, as a member of the joint negotiating team of HCMC and Bank of Greece. She is a graduate of the Department of Economics of Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and speaks English, Armenian, Turkish and a little Italian.
